Birthday Weekend with Lolly and Gran

WARNING: Very long post with lots of pictures.:)

Lolly and Gran got into Charlotte late Friday night along with Daddy! Colsen got to stay up a little past his bedtime to say hello. He was so excited to see everyone, especially Daddy!! It had been almost two weeks since Colsen had seen him. We had been in Auburn the weekend before and Kyle was working. Kyle took his parents to their hotel and we made plans to meet Saturday at 9 o'clock.

The first Birthday weekend outing was to a place called Monkey Joe's. This place is sooo much fun!! It has all kinds of inflatables for kids to jump on. Monkey Joe's even has two special areas just for toddlers. Colsen was more into the bigger inflatables because that's where all the big kids were. We all had a great time watching Colsen play! This will be a place that we will definitely go back to!! Next on the schedule, was a trip to show Lolly and Gran the house and all the progress that has been made. I didn't get any pictures but I knew we would be back. Lolly and Gran loved the house and they could really see where everything was going to be. After that we went to one of or new favorite places to get hamburgers, 5 Guys. They have the best tasting and the freshest burgers and fries! It is my all time favorite hamburger place!! After our lunch we headed back for naps. Once we woke up we headed to a Toy store where Colsen could play. I also go a chance to find just one more birthday present. I was able to find these stuffed athletic balls in a bag. If you look below at the last post you will be able to see them. After that we headed to dinner at On the Border. This is the only place we have gone for Tex-Mex. It is pretty good, but not what we're quite used to in Houston. We got home and noticed that Colsen felt warm, so I took his temp ant is was 101. I gave him some Motrin and he slept through the night.

On Sunday, we decided not to go to church because Colsen had been running a fever and it wouldn't be a good idea for him to be in the nursery. Colsen was feeling better, so we did decide to go to brunch at a place called the Flying Biscuit. The food is really good and they have these great homemade biscuits! After brunch, we headed to the house to take another look around and this time I did take some pictures. After the house visit we headed back so Colsen could take a nap and so Lolly and I could get things together for the big Birthday celebration!! Colsen is still running an off and on low grade fever. I am just watching it to see what happens. He is still acting like himself-happy and go lucky. Lolly and I got everything set up and we have the party. There is a post below with all the pics. from the party. After the party we head to another one of our new favorite restaurants called Wolfman Pizza! It is really good!! After dinner we came back and I got Colsen ready for bed and Kyle took his parents back over to the house and this gave them so time to talk. Colsen is still running this off and on low grade fever and that night we got to see the affects of it. He woke up at 2:30, 5:30 and 7:30 but went back to sleep and slept till 9:30.

On Monday, we were all going to meet for breakfast but because of the night we had with Colsen we met Lolly and Gran at their hotel and said goodbye to them and to Daddy. The rest of the day was spent napping and resting. By late afternoon Colsen's fever had reached 102. That was enough and I found an Urgent Care center to take him to. I had given him some Motrin before we left, because I didn't know how long we would be there. Well... the Motrin had kicked in and you couldn't even tell he was sick. The Dr. did a strep test because his throat was so red and it came back negative. She did go ahead and put Colsen on Amoxicillan just to be safe. It is Tuesday, and he is fever free and feeling much better. Overall we had a great weekend!! Thank you Lolly and Gran for coming to see us!!!

Lolly holding the cup. Colsen likes to drink out of the cup the same way he drinks out of his sippy cup. That can make for a very big mess!
