The Bradens: A Visit from Aunt Sarah and Allie!!

WARNING: This is a very long post with LOTS of pictures. I hope you enjoy!!

Aunt Sarah (my sister) and cousin Allie came to visit us on their way to Raleigh to visit Uncle Ryan, Aunt Rachel and cousin Audrey(my brother and sister in law). They got here Wednesday night and left early Friday morning. So, Thursday we got to play!! We headed for the pool. It was a bit over cast, but at least it wasn't raining. We had a great time splashing around!! After that we headed to one of our favorite places, Chick-fil-a, to eat some lunch!! As always, it was yummy!! We came home and took naps. After we woke up and had some milk we headed out the door to do some shopping at Gap Kids. Allie got some really cute clothes. I'm sorry Mom, I didn't take any pictures. Next, we headed to a restaurant called Encore in one of my favorite shopping areas. The weather was so nice that we decided to eat outside! I love that the fact that we can eat outside in July!! I love North Carolina!!! After we finished eating, we went to play in this play area that was probably only about ten steps from the restaurant. Colsen and Allie had a great time running around, climbing and swinging on the equipment. Our last stop was a trip to Baskin Robbins for some ice cream. It was the perfect way to end a great day!! As I said before, Aunt Sarah and Allie left early Friday morning. But we weren't too say because we knew they would be back on Saturday afternoon.

He got some new PJ's and some new books! Actually, Allie brought Colsen lots of new books and games that she was not longer using! Thank you soooo much, Allie!! Colsen is having LOTS of fun playing with them!!

Going up the slide. Colsen loves to go up the slide, he just doesn't like to slide down for some reason. Not going down down, makes things very difficult when there is a line of kids behind Colsen. We are now trying to teach him if he goes up then he HAS to go down. It's a very big lesson for a two year old. It's just not safe for him or the other children on the slide. And by the way, Colsen is not a fan of this new rule!

Aunt Sarah and Allie are back from Raleigh. Sarah was so nice and said she would watch Colsen so Kyle and I could have a date night. We were so excited!! I don't think we have had a date night since Easter. Needless to say, it's been a very long time and we couldn't wait!!!

First we showed Sarah and Allie the new house. We couldn't go in, because they are working on the floors. But they were able to look in the windows to get the basic idea.

Here is the latest picture of the house. I am beyond thrilled with how the outside looks!! It is exactly what I wanted!! I will post more inside pictures after the hardwoods are done.

While Kyle and I were trying to have fun on our date night. More info. in just second, Colsen and Allie were having fun Monkey Joe's, an inflatable place. The plan was that after we showed Sarah and Allie the house we would take them to Monkey's Joe's. As we were leaving the apartment I gave my apt. key to my sister and I forgot to ask Kyle to get his key. Well after we took Sarah and the kids to Monkey's Joe's we were going to come back to the apartment to change clothes. Well... we get all they way home and to the door before I realized that I didn't have a key to get in. So... yes we were locked out! Kyle and I didn't think we would have enought time to drive back and get the key from Sarah, so we just decided to go with what we had on and change our choice of restaurant. We headed to a Mexican restaurant to eat. We had a great time and really got to enjoy talking without worring about Colsen. Dinner didn't take as long as we thought it would so we had some time to kill before our 7:55 moving started. We went to Home Depot next door to look at their outdoor furniture to see if they had any good deals. As we were walking in, Kyle said something about drying cleaning and I went OH NO! I had forgotten to pick up his dry cleaning. The dry cleaning that had his white shirt that he was going to need tomorrow. Did I mention it's Saturday night! No dry cleaner is going to open on Sunday. I feel so bad, I'm in tears! Kyle is very sweet and says no big deal, we'll go and get a new white shirt tomorrow. I probably need another one anyway!! At this point we head to the moving theater. When we get there, it is packed! I'm not to worried because the movie we want to see has been out for a couple of weeks. Well... Kyle drops me off to go get tickets and he tries to find a parking spot. I get up to the ticket counter and guess what... Yep their sold out. I couldn't believe it!! This date night was going from bad to worse. We start looking at other movie places and find it at another theater at a later time. We head over there only to find out that the movie doesn't start till 10. We decide that's too late. We wouldn't get home until around one in the morning. In the same area as the movie theater is also a Walmart. We decide to go in there and walk around. I told Kyle I wanted to get him a Wii for his house warming present. I wanted to buy it soon so we could have it hooked up with the rest of the media equipment. And going with the rest of the evening, Walmart was out! By this point it's around 8:30, so we decide to hed to Sonic and then by the new house and then we would go home. This date night was not at all what I planned, but I think Kyle and I learned a lesson. It's not what you do, but who your with!! I had so much fun getting to hang out with my man!!!

The next day we head to go eat breakfast before Sarah and Allie leave to go back to Auburn. After breakfast, Kyle takes Colsen and Allie to see the ducks/geese. Sarah and I meet up with them after we pay.
