Happy Halloween 2009!!!!

Halloween started out a little rough this year. Kyle has been sick in Detroit all week. He has been so sick that one day he didn't even go into work. And if you know Kyle, that NEVER happens. We both decided that it would be best for everyone if he stayed in Detroit and got better. We also wanted to make sure that he didn't pass on his illness to Colsen or myself. Everyone was really sad, but we felt this was the best decision. Colsen and I haven't been feeling that well either. We've both been coughing and fighting congestion in our noses and chests. The good thing is that neither one of us has had fever. So today, we hung around the house playing and reading and taking extra long naps. After nap time, we make a quick trip to the grocery store. Well...when I walked outside the temperature was not at all what I thought it would be. I was thinking it would be cool with a breeze. Well...it was warm and humid. That's not what you want when your child is going to be wearing a warm fuzzy costume. And to make things worse, Colsen hasn't really liked his costume. Every time I would go to put it on him he would kick and scream. So I'm thinking this is not going to be a good night. As it turns out, we get home from the store and I get Colsen into his costume will not much of a fight. And as soon as he sees himself he is a happy bear. We head outside to get a few pics before we are off to trick or treat. As we finish up with pictures, it starts to lightly rain. I'm thinking, "great"!! I decide to put Colsen in the car and we would go see the neighbors we knew. Colsen was having so much fun that he kept saying, "one more house". By this point, he and I are both pretty wet, but he was having so much fun that I just couldn't tell him no. We were out for about 45 minutes. And by the end the rain had stopped. Colsen LOVED wearing his costume and neither the rain or the temperature bothered him one bit. This Halloween may have started a bit rocky, but it ended up great!! Colsen had a wonderful time and that's all that mattered!!! There is a reason we choose this costume for Colsen this year, but you're going to have to wait a little to find out why. Here are some pictures from earlier today and trick or treating tonight. I should warn you there are alot, so enjoy!!

Thank you Lolly and Gran for the Chick-fil-a gift cards and the wonderful books!! Here is Colsen checking out his gift cards. We will be soon be making a trip to Chick-fil-a!
