Philidelphia Trip-Day 1

I'm finally getting back to blogging!! Back in May Kyle and I took a 5 year anniversary trip to Philadelphia!! One, it was a chance to get away and two, I could see the city and university where Kyle would be spending every other weekend over the next 2 years. We had a great time seeing all the sights and doing fun things that Philadelphia had to offer. I should warn you there are quite a few pictures and I've even split them up in two posts. Enjoy!!

The first place we came across was Benjamin Franklin's grave and plack.

I love what this says. Benjamin Franklin wrote this himself way before he was famous.

Next we came to Betsy Ross' house. She is know for making the first American flag.

The side of her house with the first stars and stripes flag on it.

The front of her house.

This was in front of Independence Hall.

No trip to Philadelphia is complete without a trip to the Liberty Bell.

Cobble Stone Streets

This picture was taken at the water front. This bridge will take you from Philadelphia into New Jersey.

I should start by saying that Philly cheese steaks are my favorite kind of sandwich! I was super excited to get to come to this place, Pat's King of Steaks!!

Here is a picture before I get ready to gobble it up. I got a cheese steak wit onions and wiz cheese. It was SO GOOD!!! Best one I've ever had!!!

MMM...Good!!!!

After our great cheese steak lunch we headed to the University of Pennsylvania. This is Franklin Field. They play football here and have the famous Penn Relays.

A statue of Benjamin Franklin who founded the University.

Locust Walk-the main walkway through campus

The students' dorms

This picture is taken on the other side of the street looking at the enterance into the dorms.

It was really funny to watch this squirrel go to town eating some yummy nuts. I had to get a picture.

Ben and me

Ivy at the Ivy league school

Here is the emblem at Penn.

Signature building- I can't remember the name.

Penn Flag-I love their colors of navy and red.

These are Benjamin Franklin sayings that are found all along the Locust Walk.

This is where Kyle will be spending most of his time when he comes to school.

After seeing the Univ. of Penn we headed back closer to where we were staying. A fountain and City Hall is behind it.

Philadelphia's City Hall-It was a beautiful building.
